Controllers Seminar Draws a Full House in Greensboro
Nearly 140 controllers and dealership professionals spent the day in Greensboro for NCADA's Controllers Seminar. The program mixed expert-led sessions with open discussion, time to connect, and a little friendly competition.

The biggest addition this year was our new Round Table Discussions. Attendees talked directly with peers from dealerships across North Carolina about how they handle the challenges that land on their desks. They compared solutions, swapped ideas, and heard how others were working through the same situations.
The conversations quickly became a highlight of the day, giving attendees a chance to learn from others facing the same pressures.
The seminar also featured eight breakout sessions led by industry experts, with attendees choosing the topics most relevant to their work. The sessions covered timely issues and gave attendees practical ideas to bring back to their dealerships.
Two featured speakers took the stage as well. Richard Vinegar of Vinegar Law PLLC presented Employment Compliance Risks Managed by Controllers, walking through the employment issues controllers are most likely to encounter and how to stay ahead of them.
Todd Keenan of Sentinel Risk Advisors closed the day with The $500,000 Mistake Every Controller Is One Click Away From Making. He broke down the financial and cybersecurity fallout that can follow a single click and what dealerships can do to protect themselves.
It wasn't all compliance and cybersecurity, though. Over lunch, two teams went head-to-head in a game of Family Feud, with prizes on the line and plenty of laughs to go around.

A big thank-you goes to Bennett Johnson, Assistant Controller with Hiester Automotive Group, who helped lead and facilitate the program throughout the day. His work keeping the discussions on track and the day moving was a big part of what made the seminar work.
We're also grateful to our sponsors, who helped make the event possible and added to the fun by providing great gifts for attendees at the end of the day.
