NCADA Announces State Auto Tech Competition Finalists
The North Carolina Automobile Dealers Association (NCADA) has announced the finalists that will participate in its 2009 State Automotive Technology Competition. High school students from Alleghany High School in Sparta, Central Academy of Technology and Arts in Monroe, Eastern Wayne High School in Goldsboro, and Watauga High School in Boone, will compete in the annual competition beginning at 9:00 a.m., on March 16, at Toyota West in Statesville, N.C.
The students who will be competing are:

Alleghany High School, Sparta – Tony Southern, Instructor
Students: Garrett Hausman, Ronnie Tye
Central Academy of Technology and Arts, Monroe – Roger Pressley, Instructor
Students: Matthew McKinnon, Jekevyn Peele
Eastern Wayne High School, Goldsboro – Mike Brown, Instructor
Students: Jessica Lawrence, Daniel Miller
Watauga High School, Boone – Larry Jones, Instructor
The finalists scored the highest in a written automotive technology exam given by NCADA. During the competition, students will be tested on cars and at workstations to demonstrate their knowledge and skill. The winning team will be sponsored by NCADA to represent North Carolina during the National Automotive Technology Competition in New York City, April 14-15, 2009.
This is the eighth year that NCADA has held a statewide automotive technology competition and the tenth year the association has sponsored a team to compete in the national competition in New York City.
