Over 300 members and friends of NCADA descended into Charleston, S.C., by way of planes, cars and ark to participate in the 73rd Annual NCADA Convention. This year’s event, “NCADA Southern Style”, was held at the Charleston Place hotel in historic downtown Charleston. This was a beautiful setting in which to conduct meetings, celebrate accomplishments and network with other dealers from across the state.
During the meeting sessions, dealers were challenged to become even more involved in the legislative issues that will shape the future of the automobile industry. Our 10 Year AutoPAC All-Star contributors were thanked for the important role they have been playing over the last 10 years. In private Dealer Make meetings, dealers talked straight about the economic conditions they are facing in their communities and efforts being taken to decrease costs across the board.
Also during convention, former NCADA Board Chairman Bill Brown passed the gavel to rising Chairman Bill Musgrave. NCADA honored Bill and his wife, Jane, for their hard work over the past year and presented them with a commissioned painting of their beach home.
As NCADA members all know, the convention is not all work and no play. In addition to the Charleston sun, attendees enjoyed plenty of low country cuisine, nearby shopping and the sheer beauty of Charleston’s historic architecture.
NCADA appreciates all the sponsors who made this year’s convention so memorable. “Our sponsors are really the reason why we are able to offer such a dynamic convention experience,” shares Robert Glaser, NCADA President. “We couldn’t do it without their support.”
NCADA has already begun planning its 2009 Convention, which will be held at the scenic Grove Park Inn in Asheville, NC, June 14th – June 17th. Save the date in your calendar and we look forward to seeing everyone back next year, along with some new faces as well.
